The terms on which we provide family law advisory services — including the scope of the engagement, responsibilities, and the basis of our relationship — are set out in the engagement letter issued to you at the commencement of an instruction. These website terms of use do not form part of that engagement letter and do not affect it.

We accept instructions only after completing necessary conflict-of-interest checks and upon receipt of a signed engagement letter. An enquiry made through this website, or a preliminary consultation, does not by itself constitute an engagement.

5. Fees and Payment

Our fees for specific services are as indicated on this website and confirmed in the engagement letter. Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit and are subject to applicable taxes where required by law.

Payment terms, invoicing arrangements, and provisions relating to disbursements are described in the engagement letter. We reserve the right to pause work if agreed payments are not received in accordance with agreed terms.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all information disclosed to us in the course of an engagement as confidential. Our confidentiality obligations extend to the fact of the engagement itself, the subject matter of instructions, and all materials prepared in the course of our work.

Confidentiality obligations do not apply where disclosure is required by applicable law, court order, or the rules of a regulatory body to which we are subject, or where you have given your prior written consent to a specific disclosure.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, design, layout, and images — is the property of Familis or is used with permission. It is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Documents prepared for you in the course of an engagement are provided for your personal use in connection with that engagement. They may not be reproduced, adapted, or relied upon by third parties without our written agreement.
